About Esteban Strings

Esteban Strings makes a variety of strings for classical, acoustic and electric guitars. All our strings deliver unsurpassed stability and brilliance.

The sound produced by your guitar starts with a vibrating string. Guitar strings are wound (wrapped) around a core which is either round or hexagonal. Different materials produce different sounds. Some are crisper and brighter than others.

The gauge (or thickness) of a string, measured to 1/1000 of an inch, determines the tension, and this affects how easy or hard it is to press or bend the string. Heavier strings are harder to play, but they produce a stronger tone than thinner strings. The bigger the string, the bigger the sound.

About Esteban

Chart-topping guitarist Esteban began playing his favorite instrument at a very young age. After graduating from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, he moved to Spain to attend master classes with the legendary Andrés Segovia, father of the modern classical guitar movement. Though unable to play guitar for a decade after a serious automobile accident, Esteban returned to performing music in the 1990s.
